Dr. Gross grew up in Pittsburgh, PA.  After graduating from Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, she moved to Washington DC.  She completed an internship at Friendship Hospital for Animals.  After completing the internship she stayed on as a staff veterinarian there.  Since leaving FHA she has worked throughout the DC area as a relief veterinarian.  As of January 2007, she is now working full time here.  She lives with her dogs Flea and Poly and her cat Mr. Biscuits.

Larissa Kats, DVM

Dr. Kats graduated veterinary school from the University of Wisconsin in 2000.  After fleeing the frozen north for the warmer climate (and better gardening) of the DC Metro area, she finished an internship at SouthPaws Referral Center and worked for 4 ½ years at Dupont Veterinary Clinic.  She joined our team in March 2006.  She currently lives in Charm City and shares her house with her fridge-opening genius dog Elric. and new puppy Caleb.

Riordan "Ry" Huegel, Veterinary Technician

Ry has been working at Union Veterinary Clinic for 4 years.  He assists Drs. Gross and Kats with all of UVC's surgeries. Ry is presently a full-time student at George Washington University. After graduation, he would like to continue in the field of veterinary medicine. His interests include ice hockey and routing for Pittsburgh sports teams.

Christopher Morrow, Veterinary Technician

I got my first vet tech position in October of 1996. I moved to California in 2001 where I continued my career as a veterinary technician, living in an apartment above the vet hospital where I worked, doing all of the overnight/ critical care, as well as working full time during regular business hours.  I spent the last 2 years working at Friendship Hospital for Animals as an emergency floor technician as well as a surgery/dental technician. I have been a technician for almost 13 years and most of that time has been spent in 2 -3 doctor small animal hospitals. I am currently enrolled in vet tech school to get my official certification.

Megan Corcelius, Veterinary Technician

Mow, Head Clinic Cat

When he is not busy with his modeling career,(you may recognize his work in local publications), he calls Union Vet Clinic home.  A familiar presence, Mow effectively manages his hectic daily schedule of sun-napping, greeting patients, and begging for food.  He is known for his unnatural ability to ply himself into the smallest of “cozy” spaces, and his general machismo.  A free-spirit to the core, Mow made his way through several homes before coming to Union.  Even so, he is admittedly “too much cat” for a small place like Union, so occasionally he will simply work the doorknobs and let himself out to wander the back.
